The 90/90 Rule

As part of the Stretch Zone scripted demo process there is some verbiage to learn word for word. One of these sections is called The 90/90 Rule. MEMORIZE THIS:
“Here at Stretch Zone, we follow the 90-90 rule. We believe the hips and the
hamstrings should naturally reach 90 degrees for the body to begin functioning
properly. The closer we get you to 90 degrees, the better your (wants/needs) will
be. The more consistent you are with your programs over the next 12 weeks, the
better the results will be.”
I tweaked it just a little bit to add some imagery that can be compelling and help people understand that range of motion is more than a number, it's a way of quantifying WHAT THEY HAVE LOST already.
I say... "here at Stretch Zone, we follow the latest scientific research, which says that the body begins to function properly when both the front and the back of the body, the hips and the hamstrings, can naturally reach 90° range of motion.
If you’ve ever seen a yogi sitting cross legged, you can understand how hip flexibility can influence even digestion, and if you think about a toddler running over squatting down to pick up a toy, then jumping up and running off without thinking about it, that’s where we want to get you back to because you used to do that! YOU used to be that toddler that could squat down to the ground without thinking about it (or holding onto anything) and then just be on your way “…
The point of helping people understand the 90/90 Rule is so they can understand what is really happening in their body, and the importance of MAKING A CHANGE TODAY instead of slowly continuing to LOSE their current range of motion and put themselves at risk for oncoming pain or injury, and once they are with us, to have a subjective, unbiased way to measure progress in addition to feeling better.
