NEVER DO THIS.
Updated: Nov 6, 2025

We have an obligation to provide an excellent studio experience for our member and co-workers. In the spirit of providing very clear communication, the following are some things that should not happen in our studios.
Tardiness. EARLY IS ON TIME. Our members and guests sometimes arrive a few minutes early. We do not have to start their appointments early, but they should never arrive to a dark, locked studio. Always arrive 5-10 minutes before your shift starts so you have time to set down your personal items and THEN clock in. If you are opening the studio allow 5 extra minutes to get lights and music on, check the studio for cleanliness, respond to urgent texts or phone messages (especially people that may want to schedule for the same day).
Wardrobe malfunction. We wear comfortable clothing and often no shoes, but we are still professionals. Stretch Practitioner always wear their branded Stretch Zone uniform shirt and leggings, pants or long shorts that reach near the knee so they can be distinguished at the experts. Sales Associates wear branded collared Stretch Zone shirts and athletic bottoms, khakis, or business casual professional dress.
Mis-use of time.
On a shift of 3 hours or more, employees are given a 15 minute paid break. During this time you can eat, check your phone for personal reasons, relax, read, study, etc. Please set a phone timer so you know when your 15 minute break is done. At the end of the break period you are in charge of getting yourself back to work. We trust our employees to not abuse the break privilege, especially around non-work use of their mobile phone on the clock.
If you don't know what to do during a shift, refer to the White Space posts, clean, help with the daily / weekly / monthly checklist, or ask a co-worker what is needed.
Sharing confidential information. Every employee signs multiple Non-Disclosure Agreements in the process of being hired. We trust our staff to keep their word and protect our brand by not sharing patented stretch information or performing our copyrighted stretches outside of the studio. This is a legal matter. Don't do it.
Going rogue. Stretch practitioners are to follow the Stretch Zone Method always. We employe many knowledgeable and talented staff. Some are licensed in other health or wellness modalities like massage therapy or personal training. While we value this experience and it can add to the way a practitioner stretches, we do not add or change the Stretch Zone stretches from the basic ones written in the spiral bound studio book or their authorized variations. If you have questions about how to perform a stretch or if a variation is authorized ask your manager. This protect both the company and the employee personally from liability claims. Read more on this here.
NO stretching for contra-indicated individuals. If anyone has, or during their membership develops, a condition that falls under the category of listed Contraindications found in the spiral Stretch Zone manual WE DO NOT STRETCH THEM. Period.
Free sessions. Do NOT book sessions (other than demos) for people that don't have session credits. Do not block out times for them on the calendar. Time slots are for people with credits. Anyone can add additional sessions during the month if they want another stretch or a specific time slot in the future. Even if an invoice will run soon, they only go on the schedule if there is a credit to back it. Encourage people to keep a few extra session credits on their account if they like to book far ahead for a certain time or practitioner. Employees can bring family in for unlimited $50 per session stretches without needing a membership commitment, but must be in the system for waiver/notes, etc.
Messy studio. After EVERY stretch practitioners are to clean and dress their stretch table. There is always 3 minutes between sessions for a quick spritz and buckle. It makes a big difference in first and lasting impressions of the cleanliness of the studio.
Being overly generous. Our full "half hour" stretches are designed to be 27 minutes long. Practitioners are to adhere to this so that members have consistent experiences across the board, no matter who stretches them. Watch your time and plan ahead so both sides of the body can be finished stretching in time. Do not add extra minutes to stretches without a specific directive from management.
Not logging communications. If someone calls in, log the phone call and summarize, especially if there is an issue with their billing or account. This helps tremendously if the sitatuation becomes escalated. The same goes for face to face conversations in studio.
Not logging sessions. After every stretch session (including demo stretches) practitioners are to note what stretches were done and how the client did physically. They also log off the session to complete it so they can be paid correctly if the system doesn't automatically log it for them. Sales Associates also log their demo conversations, but instead of the physical aspects, they include notes about the goals and desires of the client and things that would help them want to come back in again.
Harrassment. Harrassment in the workplace is considered any behavior that makes someone uncomfortable. There is no room in our amazing studios for lewd or suggestive verbal or non-verbal communication, political commentary, etc. Think of the feelings and perspective of others and be a kind human. If someone (including co-workers, members or guests) makes you feel uncomfortable or behaves inappropriately, we want to protect you. Click here to understand how we stand behind our employees.
***Additionally, it is inappropriate and unprofessional to contact Stretch Zone members or guests for personal reasons through personal or company phones or communication platforms. If there is a matter that can't be handled through normal channels, immediately involve your studio leader or regional manager. As an employee, you should not be disclosing your personal contact info, obtaining theirs or communicating about non-company related items.
Misrepresenting. We have a great product (stretching!) and we are proud of how we do business. Our membership agreements are straightforward and we should never hide from talking about how our policies work, always communicating being sensitive to helping our members have positive experiences.
We work on a membership model that continues month to month indefinitely unless someone communicates IN WRITING that they would like to discontinue with us. The text that we send suffices for that when they send it back to us.
When someone STARTS cancellation, their notice begins the 30 day cancellation process. All memberships have a 30 day cancellation notice required. A final invoice will always run during that 30 days. This is how we do business and every member agrees to this when they first sign on with us. :)
We have a 12 hour session cancellation policy. "In the event that you need to cancel or reschedule a stretch session, we do require 12 hours notice. Otherwise, the system WILL pull a credit from your account to pay the practitioner that is waiting in studio just for you". Do NOT promise exceptions to this. Only a manager can make that decision.
Member sessions expire 90 days after cancellation notice is given. After 90 days the sessions are no longer valid. Do not promise that we would extend dates. Only a manager can determine if we are to extend a number of expired sessions.
Obviously, there are many more scenarios of how to be a good and reliable employee, and you are here because we trust you to provide a great experience for all who walk in our door. Thanks for all the good work you do!
